The Cast of Meh~!
Main Characters
The protagonist (mostly) of our story. Armed with a doctoral degree in useless mathematics in his dominate hand and a slightly smaller, but better balanced bachelor's of arts in creative angsty poetry writing in his off-hand, Ariel strives to survive the world of academia, the lure of ancient deathtraps, the battling with unspeakable evils and ninjas, and space.
Special Powers: Some crazy kind of dead-language-powered sorcery. Puns.
Nobody really knows his real name, because his sole purpose of existence seems to be bringing his advisor coffee and being Ariel's sidekick. However, he has recented acquired a masters degree, dropped out of graduate school and became an accountant and/or acturary for evil, literally. He also owns a successful role-playing and collectible card game franchise. He does not understand how to deal with self-esteem, now that he has some.
Special Powers: Unlimited in Dungeon Master mode. Also, the power and rights granted to Hell's chief acturary.
Ariel's girlfriend since strip 50 or so, that is not what defines Lorelei (or Lorie to her friends). What defines her is her obscenely high IQ, the fact that she is a rock star (armed with an electric bass guitar/fiddle hybrid), and that she will kick anyone's ass if it needs kicking. She has a little obssession with carrots, being a rabbit and all. She is more awesome than Ariel, period. He is okay with that. Mostly.
Special Powers: Awesomeness. Being a girl. Polearm combat specialty.
Hannah is Ariel's sister and the owner of Pi-Place, the most awesome pie shop in the city. She can also pull large axes out of nowhere, anime style. With great power comes great responsibilities, as her delicious pie is the only thing standing between the Church and its total dominance over the city via holy pies. She has became somewhat of an exposition machine lately and she is not happy about it.
Special Powers: Dimensional pocket from which she pulls out an oversized axe.
Once a champion of preversed justice in the name of the Church, Charles has discovered the awesomeness of secular life. Sex, booze, the ability to wield two swords at once (silly one-sword Church doctrines) and the fact that the Church wants him dead has convinced Charles that his old life of murdering babies and being an asshole was wrong. He has a non-relationship with Hannah.
Magic Items: None. His items are all shiny but decidedly not magical.
Supporting Cast That Which Are Rabbits
If you want something shady like arsenic-filled pies or twelve-sided dice, Patcher is the man to go to. He also has a ship, because he is a pirate. Actually, he's not really a pirate in the traditional sense. And he has two good eyes. He just likes having an eyepatch.
Once a Fung Shui master from the mystic East, the Master is now the sole faculty member in the Carrotia University's mathematics department. He is Coffee Boy's advisor, and Ariel and Lorelei's "project leader". Sometimes he is very tough. Okay, he's always very tough, and a bastard as well.
Not the most compentent ninja in the world, Shadowhop is a mercenary bodyguard and/or assassin. He has travelled very far from the mystic East to the center of the world to discover what happened to his honourable ninja ancestor who once dwelled here.
Feathers is the member of some ancient tribe of nature-loving rabbits. Once the target of Charles' blind hatred towards all things not kosher with the Church, he now enjoys a bit of a breather as one fewer Crusader is looking to kill him.
Non-Rabbit Supporting Characters
Gobbles is a turkey. A mysteeeerious turkey.
The rabbits consider them as second class beings, so the only logical thing for the Church to do was to slaughter them many years ago. Currently, their survivors live in a cave, farm and do math.
Created by Hannah as an experiment. The many different types of meats and ice creams shoved inside this bun defied the laws of physics and gave birth to a superintellegence. Omegabun is currently leading the chickens to the promised land of delicious meat.
Once Carrotia's main source of food, the hidden telepathic capabilities of the chickens were awakened by Omegabun. With the help of Hannah and Charles the chickens now roam free and follow Omegabun in their quest for paradise.
Antagonists
Nobody knows why Fluffy is the ultimate embodiment of evil. But, somehow, he is. Many many many years ago he was sealed away (like all ultimate embodiments of evil ought to be) by some unlikely destined heroes. The Church accidentally released him into the world again and now Fluffy is plotting to destroy everything. His fur is so fluffy it drives everyone who touches it insane. Fluffy has been revealed to be the final boss.
He is the head of the Holy Church. He likes to abuse his powers and he knows that he isn't really doing things for his religion, given how angels sometimes appear and tell him that he's doing it all wrong.
It's a sentient plant, which is weird. Shrub is a very good politicial because it has no spine and no brain.
The current ruler of Beacon of Shiny Light Formerly Known as City of Carrotia. Churchstate is the combined form of Bishop and Shrub, and oppresses the people of the city both religiously and secularly. Churchstate won the election against Ariel using bad math.
The Master's rival, the Sadistic Statistician was the one who drove him out of the East. He is an evil man who uses mathematics to predict the movement of the stars, and then use that knowledge to make a killing on the stock market.
Three ninjas trained by the Sadistic Statistician to be the best mathematicians and assassins in the world. They were defeated by Ariel, Lorelei and Coffee Boy in the Icosa-Annual Mathethon. Now they train, a lot, so they can face our protagonists in battle again.
The Floaties are evil aliens who want to invade Carrotia. Nobody, including the Floaties themselves, understand why that is. They use lasers and spaceships and have been foiled again and again by unwitting heroes, including our protagonists. In case you have not figured it out already, they float.
Once the keeper of the city's sacred beef factory and holder of the monopoly on the city's meat supply, he was driven away by the masterful dual-sword techniques of Charles.
Faith of Our Bunnies
These are characters from Faith of Our Bunnies, the prequel to Meh~!. They appear in flashbacks. Except sometimes they appear elsewhere too.
Cutie is the first rabbit. He is the template for all other bunnies. He's a little stupid, a little adorable, and destined to save the world. He likes to eat carrots. His greatest weakness is math. So, just like a normal everyday rabbit. He has gone on his share of adventures in order to bring peace to Carrotia. Somehow he mysteriously disappeared like all heroes from prequels do.
Slippy is a rat. He is also a super-genius inventor and engineer who plays brain to Cutie's pinky. Slippy has created many toast-powered and toast-related contraptions and was credited as the first animal to ever harnest the powers of baked goods. Our (current) heroes first encountered Slippy as a holographic recording who is a little crazy in the basement of their building.
What the Crap?!
Angie is an angel. She likes to make things explode and Porie.
Porie is... um... we don't really know. He likes candy and Angie. Supposedly, he's evil. We have not really seen evidence of that yet.
Time paradox!~
